Burn Hours by Candle Weight & Format
A candle’s lifespan depends primarily on wax weight, wax type (soy burns slower than paraffin), and wick caliber. Under proper care (trimmed wicks and draft-free rooms), Asmara candles deliver the following burn times:
| Vessel Size / Weight | Wick Count | Estimated Burn Hours | Ideal Room Application |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100g Travel Jar | 1 Wick | 20 – 25 Hours | Bathrooms, reading desks, hotel rooms |
| 200g Standard Jar | 1 Wick | 40 – 45 Hours | Master bedrooms, home offices, dining tables |
| 350g Grand Jar | 2 Wicks | 60 – 70 Hours | Spacious master suites, boutique reception halls |
| 500g Luxury Centerpiece | 3 Wicks | 75 – 85 Hours | Grand living rooms, open banquet tables |
Unlit Shelf Life: Do Scented Candles Expire?
Pure plant soy wax candles have a recommended shelf life of 18 to 24 months from the date of pouring. While the wax itself does not spoil, natural essential oils and fragrance molecules can gradually evaporate or oxidize if left uncovered.
To preserve unlit candle freshness for years, keep the lid securely fastened and store away from direct sunlight.
