The Capillary Action Mechanism
Reed diffusers operate on the natural physical principle of capillary action. Rattan reed sticks contain dozens of microscopic open channels running along their entire length like tiny straws.
When the lower ends of the reeds are submerged in liquid fragrance oil, adhesive forces draw the liquid upward through the reeds against gravity. As the liquid reaches the exposed top of the sticks, ambient room air currents gently evaporate the fragrance into the room.
Why Alcohol-Free Diffuser Bases Matter
Cheap commercial diffusers use cheap ethanol or rubbing alcohol as a solvent. Alcohol evaporates rapidly within 2 to 3 weeks and has a harsh medicinal vapor that masks delicate floral and woody notes.
Asmara diffusers use an eco-friendly, slow-evaporating bio-solvent that preserves pure fragrance notes and extends diffuser lifespan to over 90 days.
